About the Atlanta Black Leadership Coalition
The Atlanta Black Leadership Coalition (ABLC) is a movement dedicated to empowering Black businesses, leaders, and communities through unity, collaboration, and access to resources. Founded by Darwin Johnson in 2017 in Akron, Ohio, the organization was born from a vision to create a reliable platform where Black entrepreneurs and community leaders could connect, grow, and support one another.
Darwin, a successful Black business owner himself, saw firsthand the challenges faced by underrepresented entrepreneurs—limited access to capital, mentorship, and community support. Out of that experience came the ABLC: a space built to strengthen economic independence, foster leadership, and build bridges within the Black community.
In 2026, ABLC expanded to Atlanta, Georgia, a city long recognized as a hub for Black excellence and enterprise. The Atlanta chapter continues the mission with renewed energy—hosting business development programs, community networking events, and initiatives that equip members with tools to thrive and lead.
Today, the Atlanta Black Leadership Coalition stands as a growing network united by one purpose: to build, empower, and sustain Black success—together.
